I received this interesting piece from Chain Store's Weekly Recap on what's happening in the on-line sales sector. The Internet is still in it's infancy when it comes to retail sales, but continues to outpace retail sales in terms of percentage growth. Very exciting for anyone that understands how to sell on-line...

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Internet retailers reported an increase in revenue in the second quarter of 2002, according to a report from the Commerce Department.
Domestic on-line sales rose 3.7% to $10.24 billion in the second quarter, representing just 1.2% of overall retail sales. When compared with the second quarter of 2001, Web sales increased 24.2%. The numbers are based on a survey of 11,000 retailers.

I'm involved in the domain name business, calling registrars, hosting companies, ISPs, and web developers every day. I always look at their sites, what domains they offer, and the way their sites work. I look at the features they have and the ease of using their site from a consumer perspective. So I have developed a sense of what works, specifically on a site that sells domain names. This blog is going to be a record of my observations with a sprinkling of other news and observations regarding online marketing and news. I hope to help prospective domain name buyers (and sellers) to choose the best sites for their money and for their needs.

I'm going to begin this effort by reviewing the top domain sellers in the industry. Please write to me with your experiences. I plan to share others notes here too.
